About the Role

As a caregiver at Sunshine Elder Care, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day support of our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Administering medication as per prescribed guidelines and maintaining accurate records.
• Monitoring and reporting changes in residents’ health and mental condition to nursing staff.
• Engaging residents in social activities and encouraging participation.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; additional certifications in caregiving, nursing, or related fields are a plus.
• Experience in elder care, healthcare, or a similar field is preferred.
• Strong empathy and compassion for the elderly.
• Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting and moving residents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Working Conditions

Our old age home provides a warm and welcoming environment for both residents and employees. Caregivers will work both day and night shifts, over weekends and holidays as necessary. Safety and comfort are our top priorities; thus, we adhere to strict safety and hygiene protocols. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided as required.
