Position Overview

As a member of Google’s Policy Management Team, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and assess policies that govern the use of our products and services while promoting user safety and privacy. You will leverage your insights and analytical abilities to guide and influence strategic decision-making processes within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on existing and emerging policies related to technology, data privacy, and user rights.
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry groups, and non-profit organizations to advocate for policies that align with Google’s mission.
• Draft policy documents and reports to communicate strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Monitor and analyze developments in regulations, advocacy efforts, and public sentiment that could affect Google’s operations.
• Host workshops and training sessions to educate internal teams on policy matters and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with legal teams to identify and mitigate risks associated with policy implementation.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a blend of expertise in technology policy, law, and public affairs. We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in policy analysis, public affairs, or compliance roles, preferably in the tech industry.
• Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, data privacy laws, and policy development processes.
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a knack for translating complex issues into clear, actionable information.
• Demonstrable experience in stakeholder engagement and collaborative working.
• Proficiency in tools for data analysis and presentation (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Google Analytics).
