Position Summary:
The Revenue Officer will play a crucial role in overseeing tax operations, including enforcement, compliance, and customer service related to tax assessments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of taxation policies and procedures, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with tax laws.
- Review and verify income tax returns submitted by taxpayers.
- Provide expert guidance to taxpayers regarding their tax obligations and rights.
- Analyze financial statements and documentation to detect discrepancies.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation related to tax assessments and audits.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance tax policy implementation.
- Participate in public awareness campaigns to educate the community on tax responsibilities.
- Stay updated on tax law changes and develop strategies for compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in taxation, auditing, or a related role is preferred.
- Knowledge of tax regulations, policies, and administration.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and tax software.
