Job Description
As a metal machinist, you will play a key role in the manufacturing process, producing precision components that meet our high standards and those of our clients. You will be responsible for operating a range of machine tools to create metal parts, as well as performing inspections to ensure quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate parts.
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
- Conduct inspections using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and practices.
- Document production data and communicate with supervisors regarding project status and progress.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the metal machinist role will possess the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining is preferred.
- Proven experience as a machinist or in a related role.
- Strong knowledge of machining principles and practices.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with CNC machines is highly desirable.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
